July 14, 2026: Nicole Berg, RT(R)(CT)(ARRT), was recognized with the ARRT I Am the Gold Standard Award, a prestigious national honor recognizing radiologic technologists who exemplify excellence in patient care, quality and safety, leadership, and advocacy.
As Vice President of the Arizona Society of Radiologic Technologists (AZSRT), Nicole has helped revitalize the state society by expanding educational opportunities, strengthening member engagement, increasing student involvement, and advancing advocacy efforts across Arizona while working full-time as a CT technologist. Passionate about mentoring future imaging professionals, she continues to foster student leadership, encourage professional involvement, and strengthen the radiologic technology profession through her dedicated service to AZSRT.
June 16, 2026: The AZSRT proudly celebrates Camie Lau being selected as a 2026 ASRT Foundation Elekta Radiation Therapy Scholarship recipient. This national scholarship recognizes entry-level radiation therapy students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, dedication, and a commitment to the future of the profession.
Being selected reflects Camie’s hard work, perseverance, and passion for providing compassionate, high-quality patient care. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishment and know she has a bright future ahead. Congratulations, Camie, on this well-deserved honor. We look forward to the many contributions you will make to the radiation therapy profession.
April 13, 2026: AZSRT proudly recognizes Tracy Rogers, RT(R)(M)(ARRT), for her leadership and advocacy surrounding Arizona House Bill 2050: Radiologic Technologists; Radiologist Assistants, signed into law by Governor Katie Hobbs.
Tracy’s work began in 2024, when she recognized that outdated state regulations were creating barriers to radiologic technology education and workforce growth. She helped develop an AZSRT advocacy committee, gathered feedback from Arizona radiography program directors, and worked with ASRT Government Relations to help shape updates to educational standards.
On January 22, 2026, Tracy testified before the House Health & Human Services Committee in support of HB 2050. The bill advanced 10–2, later received a unanimous 7–0 Senate committee recommendation, passed both chambers, and was signed into law April 13.
Tracy’s persistence and collaboration show the impact radiologic technologists can have when they use their experience and voice to advocate for change. Her work helped strengthen educational opportunities and the future of radiologic technology throughout Arizona.
March 12, 2026: TJ Gardner, B.Arch., B.S., R.T.(T), was named the 2025 ASRT Student to Leadership Development Program (SLDP) Alumni of the Year in recognition of his outstanding leadership, service, and dedication to advancing the medical imaging and radiation therapy profession.
After transitioning from a successful 25-year career as a licensed architect specializing in health care facility design to radiation therapy, TJ quickly emerged as a respected leader within the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) and the Arizona Society of Radiologic Technologists (AZSRT). Through mentoring future leaders, serving on national committees, modernizing AZSRT bylaws, and advocating for the profession, he continues to make a lasting impact on the radiologic sciences community.
October 3, 2025: We are proud to recognize Nicole for her outstanding leadership, professionalism, and continued dedication to the Arizona Society of Radiologic Technologists (AZSRT).
As Treasurer and Website Lead, Nicole plays an essential role in strengthening our society’s operations and digital presence. Her expertise and commitment extend across multiple committees—including Membership, Social Media, Bylaws & Compliance, and Event Planning—where she consistently supports growth, engagement, and excellence.
On a national level, Nicole represents Arizona as an Affiliate Delegate to the ASRT House of Delegates, mentors students through the ASRT Student Leadership Development Program (SLDP), and contributes to the ASRT Professional Mentor Program, guiding and inspiring the next generation of medical imaging professionals.
Nicole’s vision and integrity have been instrumental in revitalizing the AZSRT and advancing our missio to promote education, collaboration, and advocacy for imaging professionals throughout Arizona. We look forward to her continued leadership in her new role as Vice President!
August 2025: Congratulations to Anna “Mey” Chou!
We are proud to celebrate Mey, one of our 2024 Arizona Student to Leadership Program (SLDP) participants, for her outstanding achievements in both academics and professional growth. Mey recently graduated from her extensive Radiation Therapy program—and even received a job offer before completing her studies!
Throughout her program, Mey remained an active supporter of AZSRT, sharing ideas and staying connected with our mission. While her new role at MD Anderson takes her to Texas, we are thrilled that she has chosen to continue representing the Arizona Society of Radiologic Technologists.
Mey, your dedication, time management skills, and commitment to our profession are truly inspiring. We wish you every success in this exciting next chapter!
June 27, 2025: We are thrilled to announce that Cynthia Marquez has been selected by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) to serve on the Committee for the Student to Leadership Development Program (SLDP) for the 2025–2026 term!
Cynthia’s journey with the SLDP began in 2023, when she was selected as a student participant. Over her three-year commitment, she has shown a deep passion for leadership, mentorship, and supporting the future of medical imaging professionals. Her dedication to the program—and to student growth—was especially evident during her recent participation at the ASRT House of Delegates Conference in Reno, where her leadership and enthusiasm left a lasting impression. Shortly after, she was invited to join the SLDP Committee.
We are incredibly proud of Cynthia’s continued impact on the profession and her commitment to guiding the next generation of radiologic technologists.
June 2025: Congratulations to Zenji Reynolds on his recent appointment to the Arizona Workforce Council!
This governor-appointed board plays a vital role in shaping statewide workforce development strategies under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). In this position, Zenji will help guide policy decisions, advise on training program funding, and strengthen Arizona’s job readiness systems—especially in high-demand fields like healthcare. His leadership and dedication to advancing professional standards make him an outstanding advocate for building a skilled, future-ready workforce across the state.
May 2, 2025: We are excited to announce Tracy Rogers has been appointed to the Medical Radiologic Technologist Advisory Committee (MRTAC), a key advisory body within the Bureau of Licensing for Professions and Occupations (BLPO) at the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS).
Tracy will be serving in the designated Radiologic Technologist position on the committee, where she will help shape the future of medical imaging regulation in Arizona.
The MRTAC is established to ensure the health and safety of Arizona’s residents by supporting the BLPO in its duties outlined in the Arizona Revised Statutes Title 32, Chapter 28. This chapter governs the licensure and professional standards of Medical Radiologic Technologists across the state.

December 2024: AZSRT proudly recognizes Thomas F. Gardner, B.S., R.T.(T) for his inspiring article, “New Horizons,” published in the December 2024/January 2025 issue of the ASRT Scanner. In this heartfelt piece, Thomas shares his journey from a 20-year career in healthcare architecture to radiation therapy, highlighting how life experience, resilience, and a passion for patient care can bring meaningful contributions to the profession. A member of ASRT’s Student to Leadership Development Program and the Committee on Bylaws, Thomas exemplifies dedication to professional growth and advocacy. November 30, 2024: We are thrilled to celebrate Jazmyn Rios accepting the position as the 2025 SLDP Student Class Representative. The ASRT’s Student Leadership Development Program (SLDP) is a prestigious three-year leadership initiative designed to immerse students in national-level advocacy, governance, education, and mentorship opportunities.
As the Arizona affiliate’s Class Representative, Jazmyn stood out among her peers, representing Arizona’s radiologic technologist students on the national stage. Selected from a competitive pool—where only two students per affiliate are chosen—her role includes attending the national symposium, engaging in leadership training, and serving as a liaison for fellow participants .
Jazmyn’s achievement reflects her leadership, dedication, and passion for advancing the radiologic science profession. Through this platform, she’ll continue to grow professionally while inspiring others and helping shape the future of our field.
October 2024: Congratulations to Thomas “TJ” Gardner! TJ has been appointed to the ASRT Committee on Bylaws for the 2024–2025 term by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. In this vital governance role, TJ will help review and recommend changes to ASRT’s foundational bylaws—ensuring they remain clear, current, and aligned with the needs of the profession. His selection reflects a strong commitment to leadership and advocacy within the radiologic sciences, and we’re proud to see Arizona represented at the national level. Way to go, TJ!
