Board of Directors
Zenji Reynolds MHA, R.T.(R)
President
Zenji Reynolds has been a member of the radiology profession since 1994. He started out as an x-ray tech is the air force before cross training to CT, after becoming proficient in CT he continued to advance in the field and cross-trained to MRI. After that he went back to school obtaining a master’s degree in healthcare administration and in 1999 received, his first director position. He is currently the CEO of Southwest Shoulder Elbow and Hand Center as well as the sitting President of the Arizona Society of Radiologic Technologist.
Donna Steele, M.Ed. R.T.(R)(M)
Vice President 2024
Donna Steele currently serves as one of the Clinical Directors in Pima Medical Institute’s Radiography Bridge Program. Prior to this position, she has served Pima Medical Institute as Student Services Coordinator and Faculty Coordinator. She has experience in Radiology Education having previous positions as Program Director, Associate Clinical Director and Associate Professor.
She has served as the Delegate for the State of AZ for the ASRT’s annual convention for the last 3 years. She has been a long-term member of the AZSRT and ASRT. She has been registered with the ARRT since 1981.
Nicole Berg, R.T. (R)(CT)
Treasurer
After accumulating nearly 16 years of experience in healthcare, I made a deliberate decision to transition my career, while still preserving my passion for the healthcare industry. My journey into radiology began with enrollment in the X-ray program at Pima Medical Institute in Mesa, focused by a desire to specialize in this critical field. Recognized for my potential, I was encouraged by an instructor to apply for the Student Leadership Development Program (SLDP) with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, a pivotal moment in my professional growth.
Since January 2023, I have proudly served as Secretary on the board of the Arizona State Society of Radiologic Technologists, where I actively contribute to advancing our field’s standards and practices. Currently, I work as a Computed Tomography Technologist at a level one trauma center, where I am dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care through advanced imaging techniques. My commitment to quality and innovation continues to drive my contributions to the healthcare community.
Nicolle “Nicky” Hightower, M.Ed., R.T.(R)(VI)
Secretary
Nicolle Hightower, an alumna of Gateway Community College ’97, has a passion for teaching radiology students and maintaining close community connections with those in the healthcare field! After graduating from GWCC, she worked in the field of radiology as a general staff technologist for over 10 years and specialized in areas such as Clinical Instructor, surgical technologist, and later cross-trained into Interventional Radiology. In 2007, she became full time faculty at GWCC after having taught as an adjunct instructor in courses such as Radiographic Positioning and Image Evaluation. Currently, her title is the Director for Clinical Education, Radiology Technology Program. Within this role and her other faculty obligations, she is an active participant in community education and clinical relationships as well as a mentor to her students; this is a role that she remains very proud of.
